Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (erosive esophagitis), treatment and prevention of recurrence of Helicobacter pylori positive peptic ulcers, relief of gastrointestinal symptoms related to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, treatment and prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers, treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, preventive maintenance therapy for gastric ulcer rebleeding.
This medication is used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosive reflux esophagitis, and it also assists in the long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in patients with esophagitis. It is also effective in alleviating the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis. It is used in combination with antibiotics for the treatment of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers associated with Helicobacter pylori infection, contributing to the prevention of recurrence. It is also used for the short-term treatment of upper gastrointestinal pain and discomfort related to the intake of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It is effective for the treatment of gastric ulcers in patients requiring continuous non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug intake, and it is also used for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and for the prevention and maintenance therapy of rebleeding from gastric and duodenal ulcers. This medication is used broadly in the treatment of various gastrointestinal disorders.
This medication should be swallowed with liquid, such as water, and should not be chewed or crushed. 1) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. - Recurrence prevention maintenance therapy: 20 mg once daily. - Symptomatic treatment in patients without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily. - If needed, 20 mg may be taken once daily (due to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug administration).
Adolescents aged 12 years and older 1) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. - Symptomatic treatment in patients without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily.
This medication should not be administered to patients with a history of allergy or hypersensitivity to any specific ingredients. In addition, drug interactions may occur when taken with certain antibiotics or antiviral drugs, so if you are taking other medications, consult a doctor or pharmacist. It is safe not to administer this medication to breastfeeding women. Various side effects such as headache, dizziness, dyspepsia, and skin rash may occur during treatment, so if symptoms are severe or persistent, medical personnel should be informed. Long-term use requires regular testing to check for adverse reactions, particularly magnesium levels or liver function tests may be necessary. This medication suppresses gastric acid secretion, which can lead to bacterial overgrowth in the gastrointestinal tract; therefore, if diarrhea persists for a long time, consult medical personnel. Patients with osteoporosis or a high risk of fractures should regularly check their bone health during long-term use. This medication inhibits certain enzymes, which can affect the blood concentration of other medications; therefore, consult a professional if you are taking other medications. In the case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so immediate medical attention is required for proper treatment. Store in a place where children cannot reach and keep in the original packaging to ensure safety.
Urticaria, angioedema, anaphylaxis reaction/shock, jaundice, hepatitis, hepatic failure, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS syndrome), interstitial nephritis, rhabdomyolysis, arrhythmias (including ventricular fibrillation, Torsades de pointes), hypertension with associated systemic edema, severe.
