Precautions

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame. Aspartame is broken down into phenylalanine in the body, so patients with phenylketonuria, who must limit phenylalanine intake, should not take this medication. Moreover, the amount of aspartame contained in this medication is adjusted to be below the maximum daily intake recommended by the World Health Organization, but it is intended for use in the smallest amount possible. The maximum daily dosage for an average adult is 2.4g. Patients who have hypersensitivity to this medication or have severe kidney or liver disease should not take this medication. This medication also contains lactose, so individuals with genetically based galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should also avoid it. Individuals with reduced kidney function, peptic ulcers, pregnant women (especially during the first three months of pregnancy), breastfeeding women, and the elderly should consult their doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If symptoms such as severe rash, mucosal damage, fever, itching, cough, or sore throat occur during the use of this medication, treatment should be discontinued immediately, and a professional should be consulted. Additionally, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, as well as allergic reaction symptoms like hives, skin rash, dyspnea, and symptoms of altered or impaired taste sensations in the tongue may occur, so caution is advised. This medication can increase antibiotic concentration in bronchial secretions and phlegm when taken with certain antibiotics, so inform your doctor of any other medications you are taking. Although no specific symptoms have been reported with overdose, if unusual reactions occur, immediate medical treatment should be sought, and there are no reports of effects on driving or operating machinery. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, in a dry and cool place with the lid tightly closed. It is safe to keep the medication in its original container and not transfer it to another container.
