This medication is used for painful muscle spasms accompanying musculoskeletal disorders, such as shoulder myofascial pain syndrome, pericapsular shoulder synovitis, and low back pain. These symptoms can cause muscle tension and pain, and this medication helps alleviate that pain and reduce muscle stiffness. Therefore, it smooths out muscle movement and helps patients lead a more comfortable daily life.
This medication is a controlled-release tablet that should be taken whole, without crushing, splitting, or chewing. It is orally administered after meals, 1 tablet (75 mg as Eperison Hydrochloride) twice a day. The dosage may be adjusted appropriately according to age and symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients with an allergic reaction to it or in patients with myasthenia gravis. Patients with a history of drug hypersensitivity or those with poor liver function should use this medication with caution, as liver function may worsen. This medication can rarely cause severe allergic reactions or serious skin abnormal symptoms, so if symptoms such as redness, itching, hives, swelling, shortness of breath, fever, blisters, or conjunctival congestion occur, discontinue use immediately and seek medical assistance. Liver or kidney function abnormalities may occur, so regular monitoring of conditions is necessary, and administration should be stopped if abnormal symptoms arise. Various side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, headache, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain may occur during administration, so symptoms should be closely monitored. In particular, symptoms such as weakness, staggering, and drowsiness may appear during the use of this medication, so dosage reduction or discontinuation may be necessary if such symptoms occur. Drowsiness or decreased concentration may occur during administration, so it is safer to avoid driving a car or operating dangerous machinery. For pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, this medication should only be used when the benefits to the treatment are judged to outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been sufficiently confirmed. Breastfeeding women are advised to avoid this medication, and if it must be used, it is advisable to discontinue breastfeeding. The safety of this medication has not been sufficiently confirmed in children, so caution is necessary for use. For the elderly, caution should be taken when using this medication, as physical functions may be reduced, and dosage adjustments may be necessary.
