This medication is used to alleviate various inflammatory diseases in the oral cavity, such as candidal infections due to denture wear, gingivitis, pharyngitis, and aphthous stomatitis. It is also effectively used for sterilization after root membrane surgery. Its efficacy allows for the treatment and recovery from oral inflammation and infections.

How to use

Adult use

Use 15 mL twice a day for approximately 1 minute for rinsing. In the case of stomatitis from dentures, soak the dentures in 15 mL twice a day for 15 minutes to clean.

Precautions

This medication can disrupt the balance of normal bacteria in the oral cavity, so it is advisable not to use it for extended periods. Persons who have previously experienced an allergic reaction to this medication should not use it. Those with asthma or other allergic diseases, or with a family history of allergies, should exercise caution when using this medication. This medication contains propylene glycol, and caution should be exercised if there is an allergy to this ingredient. It may cause staining on teeth or gums, increase tartar, and a numbing sensation on the tongue or inside the mouth. In particular, there may be peeling or slight irritation of the oral mucosa in children. Rarely, severe allergic reactions can cause symptoms such as dizziness, shortness of breath, and seizures, in which case use should be immediately discontinued and medical attention sought. If skin rashes or hives occur, use of this medication should be stopped, as severe cases may lead to life-threatening allergic reactions. Temporary inflammation of the salivary glands may occur, so any unusual symptoms should be reported. For typical bacterial infections, antibiotics may be necessary instead of this medication. It is generally recommended not to use this medication for more than 10 days. In cases of simultaneous gingivitis and periodontitis, the effect of treatment for periodontitis should not be evaluated based solely on the condition of the gums after treatment with this medication. Staining may occur on the surface of teeth, dentures, or the back of the tongue, so caution is advised. Particularly, those wearing rough-surfaced or gap-containing dentures should use with caution as staining may worsen; it is advisable not to use if staining is undesirable. Pregnant women should only use this medication when the benefits outweigh the risks, and nursing women should also use with caution. Safety and efficacy in individuals under 18 years have not been sufficiently established, so caution is required for use. This medication is for oral use only and should not be used for ingestion. Keep out of reach of children, store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and securely close the lid. It is safe to avoid keeping it near open flames.
