Mucilcapsule 200mg (Acetylcysteine)

Adult dose

For acute conditions, take 200 mg three times daily; for chronic conditions, take 200 mg twice daily before meals with a small amount of water.

Child dose

For acute conditions, children aged 6 to 14 years should take 200 mg twice daily. For chronic conditions, those aged 6 to 14 years should take 100 mg three times daily. For cystic fibrosis, children over 6 years should take 20 mg.

This medication should not be taken by individuals who have had allergic reactions. Individuals with ulcers in the stomach or duodenum should not take this medication. Children under 2 years of age should not use this medication. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, and individuals with hereditary diseases that prevent lactose digestion should avoid it. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should consult with a doctor before taking this medication. Nursing mothers should also consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication, as it is uncertain whether it passes into breast milk. If gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, stomatitis, heartburn, or diarrhea occur during use, discontinue the medication immediately and consult a doctor. Discontinue the medication immediately if hives, itching, skin rash, headache, tinnitus, difficulty breathing, or worsening asthma symptoms occur. Rarely, this medication may cause increased heart rate or high blood pressure; if these symptoms occur, inform a healthcare professional. This medication may reduce the effectiveness of other oral antibiotics when taken together, so they should be taken at least 2 hours apart. It is advised to avoid mixing this medication with other drugs in the solution, and keep it in a safe place out of reach of children. Lastly, this medication should be stored in its original packaging, as transferring it to another container might reduce its quality or result in incorrect dosages.
