Precautions

This drug should not be used by patients who have allergic reactions to this drug or its components. Patients with liver diseases or those who have had liver diseases in the past should be cautious when using this drug as their liver condition may worsen. If allergic symptoms such as skin rash, urticaria, swelling of the face or extremities, or itching occur during use, the medication should be stopped immediately, and medical advice should be sought. This drug may occasionally cause neurological symptoms such as drowsiness, headaches, dizziness, insomnia, and nightmares, so care should be taken if these symptoms occur. Digestive system issues such as indigestion, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, and dry mouth may also occur, though infrequently, so monitoring symptoms is important. Liver function abnormalities or jaundice symptoms may occur, so regular liver function tests should be performed, and if abnormal findings appear, the medication should be discontinued. It may affect kidney function and cause proteinuria, so kidney status should be carefully monitored. If urinary symptoms such as frequent urination, hematuria, or difficulty in urination occur, medical consultation should be sought immediately. Increased heart rate may occur, so care should be taken if palpitations are felt. Respiratory symptoms such as difficulty breathing, nasal congestion, and difficulty expectorating may rarely occur, so symptoms should be closely monitored. There is a possibility of thrombocytopenia or leukocytosis during blood tests, so regular blood tests are required. In women, rare symptoms such as breast pain, menstrual irregularities, and discomfort in the chest area may appear, so these symptoms should be reported. This drug is not an immediate relief for asthma attacks, so this point must be adequately explained to asthma patients. For patients undergoing long-term steroid treatment taking this medication, the steroid dosage should be reduced slowly. This drug may cause drowsiness, so caution is required when driving or operating machinery. If no effect is seen, long-term use should not be continued. Patients with seasonal allergies are advised to start taking the medication before symptoms worsen and to continue taking it throughout the duration of symptoms. While this drug has a low likelihood of enhancing sedation effects when used with other sleep medications, antihistamines, or alcohol, caution is warranted due to limited co-administration experience. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should only use this medication if it is deemed that the benefits outweigh the risks. Breastfeeding women should avoid taking this drug if possible or cease breastfeeding while taking it, as it can be passed through breast milk. Safety for children, newborns, and infants has not been adequately confirmed, so caution is necessary when using in this population. Elderly patients may have reduced liver and kidney function, necessitating careful monitoring for adverse symptoms and possible dosage adjustments. In case of overdose, arrhythmias and other heart problems may occur, so if symptoms arise, immediate medical attention is required, and appropriate treatments such as gastric lavage or diuresis may be needed. This drug should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers, as this may lead to accidents or degradation in quality. When taken on an empty stomach, blood concentration may increase, so depending on certain conditions, it may be recommended to take the medication before bedtime or after meals, as directed.
