This medication is used only in patients who need to take both valsartan and rosuvastatin together. Valsartan is used in patients with essential hypertension and heart failure, especially in cases where there is intolerance to ACE inhibitors, and it reduces the risk of death in patients with left ventricular dysfunction after myocardial infarction. Rosuvastatin is used as an adjunctive treatment in patients with hyperlipidemia and dyslipidemia who are not controlled by diet and exercise, lowering total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol, thereby delaying the progression of atherosclerosis. In addition, it helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, including stroke, myocardial infarction, and need for vascular revascularization. This medication works effectively on both conditions to improve the patient's cardiovascular health.
