Adult dose
Adults: Take the initial recommended dose of 10mg orally approximately 25 to 60 minutes before sexual activity. Depending on efficacy and tolerability, the dose may be increased to 20mg or decreased to 5mg. The maximum recommended dose is 20mg once daily. The maximum recommended frequency of administration is once daily. This medication may be taken with or without food; taking it with a high-fat meal may delay the onset of action. Do not exceed 5mg when coadministered with erythromycin, a CYP 3A4 inhibitor. Older adults (65 years and older): Because clearance of this medication is reduced in older adults, the initial dose should be 5mg. Depending on efficacy and tolerability, the dose may be increased to 10mg or 20mg (see 4. Adverse Reactions 10)). Patients with hepatic impairment: The initial dose for patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh A-B) should be 5mg. Patients with renal impairment: No dosage adjustment is necessary in patients with mild to moderate renal impairment. Precautions

This medication may impose a burden on the heart during sexual activity, so the patient's heart and vascular status must be checked prior to use. Generally, this medication is not used in patients with cardiovascular diseases or when sexual activity is not recommended. This medication has a vasodilating effect, which may temporarily lower blood pressure; thus, patients with certain heart diseases should be cautious. If an erection lasts more than 4 hours after taking this medication, medical attention should be sought immediately to prevent damage to penile tissue and loss of erectile function. Furthermore, taking this medication with nitrate preparations or nitric oxide (NO) donors poses a risk of severely low blood pressure, so any patients currently taking such medications must inform their physician. Patients who are allergic to this medication or its ingredients, those with certain heart and liver kidney disorders, hypotension, or those who have experienced recent myocardial infarction or stroke, should not take this medication. Additionally, it is prohibited for individuals under 18 years of age and elderly patients over 75 who are on certain medications. Patients with penile deformities, bleeding disorders, or certain blood disorders should use this medication with caution, and dose adjustment is necessary for those with moderate or severe liver impairment. Side effects such as headache, dizziness, facial flushing due to vasodilation, dyspepsia, myalgia, and others may occur. In rare cases, changes in vision or hearing may occur, and if sudden vision loss or hearing reduction happens, the medication should be discontinued immediately and a physician consulted. This medication has many drug interactions, so especially with medications metabolized by the liver or those affecting blood pressure, consultation with a physician is necessary. Serious side effects may occur with overdose, so the prescribed dosage must be adhered to, and the medication should be kept out of reach of children. This medication is not to be used by pregnant or nursing women or children. After taking it, if dizziness or visual disturbances occur, driving or operating machinery should be avoided.
