This medication is primarily used to treat essential hypertension. Additionally, it helps reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and cardiovascular disease mortality in high-risk patients aged 55 years and older, such as those with coronary artery disease, a history of stroke, peripheral artery disease, or end-organ damage due to diabetes. It is particularly effective as an alternative treatment for patients who have difficulty using ACE inhibitors. By reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases and controlling blood pressure, it improves health.
