Precautions

This drug is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to penicillins or cephalosporins. Special caution is needed in patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia due to a higher risk of rash. Patients with a history of jaundice or liver dysfunction caused by this drug or penicillins should avoid use due to the risk of recurrence. Caution should be exercised in patients with poor liver function or moderate to severe kidney impairment, as drug concentrations may increase. Patients with allergic tendencies may experience bronchial asthma, rash, or urticaria, necessitating caution. Patients with gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea, those with poor nutritional status, and elderly individuals should be monitored as there is a risk of vitamin deficiencies. During treatment, if symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, or blood in stools occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. Rare liver dysfunction symptoms such as jaundice and hepatitis may appear, and symptoms could persist for several weeks after discontinuation of treatment, so caution is advised. Skin rashes, itching, and in severe cases, serious skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur, requiring immediate discontinuation of the medication. Rare laboratory findings may include leukopenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia, necessitating regular blood tests. Central nervous system anomalies such as anxiety, confusion, and seizures have been rarely reported, and the risk of seizures is increased in patients with decreased kidney function. If kidney dysfunction symptoms or hematuria appear, immediately discontinue and seek appropriate treatment. Oral candidiasis or stomatitis may occur due to antibiotic use, so if symptoms arise, consult a physician. There may be a tendency for bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency, so report any bleeding symptoms immediately. This medication may interact with other drugs, so inform your physician or pharmacist if you are taking any other medications. Use is restricted during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and it is particularly unsafe during early pregnancy. For children, it is recommended for those aged 12 years or older or weighing 40 kg or more. Elderly patients need dosage adjustment and careful observation due to the increased risk of bleeding from decreased kidney function and vitamin K deficiency. In cases of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, renal failure, seizures, allergic reactions, etc., may occur, necessitating immediate medical care. This medication should be stored in a dry place below 25 degrees Celsius and taken as prescribed in terms of duration and dosage.
