How to take

Adult dose

Levamisole, 100 mg orally three times a day. However, in the case of gastric ulcers, it should be taken in the morning, evening, and before bedtime.

Precautions

This medicine should not be used in patients who have had hypersensitivity reactions to the ingredients. Serious allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis may occur during use, so if such symptoms appear, treatment should be discontinued immediately and appropriate therapy should be sought. Regular monitoring is necessary as blood tests may show a decrease in the number of white blood cells or platelets; if abnormalities are found, treatment must be stopped and therapy should be sought. There may be liver function problems; if liver enzyme levels rise or jaundice symptoms appear, treatment should be discontinued immediately. Skin reactions such as hives, rashes, or itching may occur; if such symptoms appear, medication should be stopped. Central nervous system effects may occur, leading to paralysis, dizziness, or drowsiness; caution is required when driving or operating machinery. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as dry mouth, constipation, abdominal distension, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, abdominal pain, belching, and taste alterations may occur. If liver enzyme levels are abnormally high, along with fever or rash, medication should be stopped immediately, and a doctor's consultation should be sought. Blood disorders may occur, such as decreased platelets and changes in white blood cells, so regular blood testing is necessary. Other rare symptoms may include breast pain, gynecomastia, palpitations, fever, facial flushing, tongue paralysis, cough, dyspnea, hair loss, menstrual irregularities, and edema. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication only if the potential benefits outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been established. This medication can be transmitted through breast milk, so nursing women should avoid breastfeeding while taking this medicine. Safety has not been sufficiently established for children, especially low birth weight infants, newborns, and toddlers, so caution should be exercised. Elderly patients generally have a similar incidence of adverse reactions, but as physical function may be diminished, additional caution regarding gastrointestinal symptoms and other side effects is necessary. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container should be avoided to prevent accidents or quality degradation.
