Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with an allergic reaction or hypersensitivity to any component of this medication. Additionally, since it contains lactose, patients with genetic galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. Patients with liver disease or a past medical history of liver disease should use this medication cautiously, as it may worsen liver function. If allergic symptoms such as rash, urticaria, pruritus, or edema occur during usage, discontinue the medication immediately and consult a physician. CNS symptoms such as drowsiness, lethargy, headache, dizziness, insomnia, and nightmares may occur, so caution is necessary. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation may occur, and any abnormal symptoms should be reported. Liver function abnormalities may occur, so monitoring with liver function tests is necessary, and if abnormalities are detected, the medication should be discontinued. Renal function may be affected, leading to proteinuria, thus renal status should also be monitored closely. Urological symptoms such as increased urination, hematuria, and urinary retention have also been reported; therefore, it is important to report any such symptoms immediately. Cardiovascular symptoms like palpitations may also occur, requiring caution. Respiratory symptoms such as dyspnea or nasal congestion have been rarely reported, so notify any abnormal signs. Hematological anomalies such as thrombocytopenia or leukocytosis may arise, so regular blood tests may be necessary. In women, symptoms like gynecomastia and menstrual irregularities may occur; caution is advised. This medication does not provide rapid relief from asthma attacks, hence asthma patients must understand this point well. Patients undergoing long-term steroid treatment should gradually reduce the steroid dosage when using this medication. This medicine may cause drowsiness; therefore, care should be taken when operating machinery or driving. If it is determined that the medication is ineffective, avoid long-term use. In cases of seasonal allergies, it is advisable to start taking the medication before symptoms begin and continue until symptoms resolve. This medication is known not to enhance the sedative effect when used with other sleeping medications or alcohol; however, caution is warranted due to limited concurrent use experience. Its safety during pregnancy has not been established, and women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a physician before taking it. Breastfeeding women should avoid taking this medication if possible or discontinue breastfeeding, as it may be transmitted through breast milk. The safety for children, especially low-birth-weight infants, neonates, and young children, has not been sufficiently confirmed. In the elderly, liver and kidney function may be impaired, so any adverse reactions should be monitored closely, and the dosage adjusted if necessary. In case of overdose, cardiac abnormalities such as arrhythmias may occur; if overdose is suspected, seek immediate medical attention for appropriate treatment. This medication must be kept out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container can negatively affect its quality. Taking it on an empty stomach can increase blood concentration, so it is recommended to take it before bedtime or after meals according to allergy symptoms.
