This medication is used for patients who require simultaneous administration of Telmisartan and Rosuvastatin. Telmisartan is used for the treatment of essential hypertension and reduces the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and cardiovascular mortality in patients aged 55 years and older who are at high risk for cardiovascular disease. Rosuvastatin is used as an adjunct therapy when diet and exercise are insufficient for controlling primary and familial hypercholesterolemia, and mixed dyslipidemia, and it lowers blood cholesterol levels, delaying the progression of atherosclerosis. Additionally, it helps reduce the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and coronary revascularization in adults with cardiovascular disease risk factors. The combined effect of these two medications improves hypertension and dyslipidemia simultaneously, effectively reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Telmisartan: - Essential hypertension: Recommended oral administration of 40 mg once daily; 20 mg may be effective in some patients. - If necessary, the dose may be increased to 80 mg once daily. - Reduction of cardiovascular disease risk: Recommended oral administration of 80 mg once daily. - Caution for patients with liver impairment (mild to moderate): Do not exceed 40 mg once daily. Rosuvastatin Calcium: - Primary hypercholesterolemia, etc.: Initial dose of 5 mg taken once daily.
This medication should not be used during pregnancy as it can cause serious harm to the fetus; if pregnancy is confirmed, the medication should be stopped immediately. Patients allergic to this medication or its components should not take it. It is advisable for women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or may become pregnant to avoid this medication. It should not be administered to patients with severe liver impairment or those with bile excretion issues. Caution is required if liver enzyme levels are abnormally high or if the patient has liver disease. This medication is not suitable for patients with a history of muscle disease or muscle abnormalities, severe renal impairment, or those who are taking certain immunosuppressants in combination. Caution must be exercised when administering this medication to the elderly, patients with hyperkalemia, patients with liver impairment, and those with heart or vascular diseases. Special attention should be paid to avoid significant drops in blood pressure. If symptoms such as muscle pain, muscle weakness, or cramps occur, consult a doctor immediately, and blood tests may be conducted to assess muscle damage if necessary. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive drugs or certain lipid-lowering agents, so patients should inform their doctor of any other medications they are taking. It is essential to regularly check liver function tests and blood enzyme levels for abnormalities. Caution is needed while driving or operating machinery due to potential dizziness or drowsiness. Store this medication out of the reach of children and avoid transferring it to other containers.
