This medication is used to treat essential hypertension and is also effective for heart failure patients (NYHA class II–IV) who have difficulty taking ACE inhibitors. Additionally, it helps reduce mortality risk in stable patients after myocardial infarction with left ventricular dysfunction. Through these effects, it controls blood pressure and improves heart function, thus enhancing the survival rate of patients. Therefore, it is used for essential hypertension, certain types of heart failure, and reduction of mortality risk after myocardial infarction.
