This medication is used for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men.

How to take

Adult dose

As sodium alendronate, take 70 mg once a week in the morning with a sufficient quantity of water at least 30 minutes before consuming food, beverages, or other medications. This medication should be taken immediately upon waking, and one should not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking it. Consuming food within 30 minutes after taking the medication or at the same time may decrease absorption. It should not be taken before bedtime or upon waking up. If a dose is missed, take 70 mg the next morning and then continue with the originally scheduled dose weekly.

Precautions

This medication may irritate the gastrointestinal tract, so those with diseases of the esophagus or stomach should exercise extra caution.
