Precautions

This medication may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behaviors, so careful monitoring for depression or mood changes is necessary during treatment. Patients with a hypersensitivity to this drug or specific genetic metabolic disorders should not take it. Diabetic patients should be cautious as weight gain may require dosage adjustment of blood sugar control medications. If an allergic reaction such as angioedema occurs, discontinue use immediately. Elderly patients are at higher risk of falls due to dizziness or drowsiness, so they should be particularly careful when starting treatment. Blurred vision or changes in vision may occur; if these symptoms arise, consult a doctor. Abrupt discontinuation of the medication may lead to withdrawal symptoms such as insomnia, headache, nausea, and anxiety, so it should be tapered off gradually. When used in conjunction with other medications that affect the central nervous system, there may be a risk of respiratory depression or excessive drowsiness, requiring caution. Pregnant women should avoid using this medication as it may affect the fetus, and women of childbearing age should use effective contraception. Breastfeeding women should consider discontinuing breastfeeding or stopping the medication as it can be passed into breast milk and affect the infant.
