Precautions

This medication belongs to the penicillin class of antibiotics and may cause specific allergic reactions, thus it should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to the ingredients of this medication or to penicillin antibiotics. Additionally, patients with allergies to cephalosporin medications should exercise caution. This medication contains lactose and should not be used in patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic issues. Patients with gastrointestinal disorders or allergic constitutions should be cautious when using this medication, particularly those with severely impaired kidney function should adjust the dosing interval. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain may occur during the use of this medication, and in severe cases may progress to pseudomembranous colitis, requiring immediate discontinuation and consultation with healthcare professionals if symptoms worsen. Furthermore, severe allergic reactions such as skin rash, urticaria, and anaphylaxis may occur and should lead to immediate discontinuation of the medication if symptoms arise. Abnormal kidney function, blood abnormalities, and liver dysfunction have also been reported, necessitating regular examinations, and any abnormal symptoms should be reported to healthcare professionals. Long-term use may lead to excessive proliferation of fungi or resistant bacteria; therefore, caution is needed. This medication should only be used during pregnancy when the benefits outweigh the risks to the fetus, and during breastfeeding, the drug may be transmitted through breast milk, thus monitoring the baby's condition is necessary. In children or the elderly, the dosing and administration intervals must be adjusted and observed carefully due to possible decreased kidney function. Additionally, there may be interactions with other medications, so patients taking other drugs must inform their healthcare professionals, particularly when used concurrently with chemotherapy agents, anti-inflammatory drugs, or oral contraceptives. Overdosage may result in neurological side effects or kidney damage, so the prescribed dosage and frequency should be followed. Lastly, if persistent diarrhea or abdominal pain occurs during the use of this medication, it may indicate a risk of pseudomembranous colitis, and immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is recommended.
