In cases of renal impairment, the dosing should be adjusted according to the creatinine clearance as follows: - Creatinine clearance 10 to 30 mL/min: Amoxicillin dose of 250 mg to 500 mg taken orally every 12 hours. 10 mL/min or less: Amoxicillin dose of 250 mg taken orally every 24 hours, ensuring not to exceed the maximum dose. - In children: adjust the dose by the same method. ○ However, for dental infections, the Amoxicillin dose is 250 mg taken orally three times a day for five days.
Child dose

This medicine is effective against a variety of bacterial infections including Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, and Neisseria gonorrhoeae. It is mainly used for the treatment of respiratory infections such as acute and chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, and sinusitis. It is also effective against urinary tract infections such as cystitis, urethritis, and pyelonephritis. It can also be used to treat pelvic inflammatory disease and gonorrhea, as well as skin and soft tissue infections, furuncles, and abscesses. It can be safely used for osteomyelitis and dental infections. It is widely used for the treatment of various infectious diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

Precautions

This medication is a penicillin-class antibiotic and should not be administered to certain patients. Firstly, patients with a severe allergic reaction to the ingredients of this medicine or beta-lactam antibiotics may be at risk if they use this medicine. Additionally, patients suffering from viral infections such as mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia are at higher risk of side effects such as rashes. If such symptoms occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately, and a doctor should be consulted. Liver function abnormalities may also occur rarely, especially in the elderly or males, and symptoms of hepatitis or jaundice may arise. Severe hypersensitivity reactions may manifest as itching or severe rash, blisters, and mucosal damage, and upon such symptoms, the use should be discontinued immediately, following the physician's instructions. Rare reports of blood-related abnormalities such as leukopenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia might require regular blood tests. The drug may affect the central nervous system, possibly leading to anxiety, drowsiness, headaches, and rarely seizures, so consultation with healthcare providers should be sought if abnormalities occur. Regular kidney function tests are recommended as kidney function may be impaired. This medicine may interact with other drugs, so if you are taking anticoagulants, other antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, or oral contraceptives, it is essential to inform your doctor or pharmacist. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should carefully decide on the use of this medicine as it may affect the fetus or infant, especially during the first trimester of pregnancy, it is advisable to avoid use. The use is not recommended for children under 12 years of age or weighing less than 40 kg due to limited experience. Elderly patients may exhibit adverse reactions more readily due to declining bodily functions, hence dosage and interval should be adjusted, with careful monitoring. During the administration of this medicine, it is important to regularly check liver and kidney function, as well as blood status, to detect any abnormalities. Urticaria, severe swelling (angioedema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, mucosal pain in mouth/eyes, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy throughout the body, sudden and very severe headaches, thunderclap headaches, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, significantly reduced urine output, severe swelling throughout the body coupled with increased blood pressure, anaphylaxis.
