Precautions

This drug should not be administered to certain patients. Patients who have previously experienced severe allergic reactions or shock from this medication should not use it. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so it should not be administered to patients with hereditary lactose intolerance, lactose enzyme deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. There are also patients who should be cautious when using this drug. Those who have had allergic reactions to this drug or other cephalosporin antibiotics should exercise special caution, and it should be administered carefully only when necessary. Patients allergic to penicillin antibiotics should also be cautious. Care should be taken in individuals with a predisposition to allergy symptoms like bronchial asthma, skin rashes, or hives. Patients with severely impaired kidney function may experience delayed elimination of this drug, requiring dosage adjustment and monitoring. Patients who have difficulty taking medications orally, those receiving non-oral nutritional support, the elderly, and those in poor general condition should be closely monitored for potential vitamin K deficiency. This drug can occasionally cause severe allergic reactions or shock, thus patients should be closely monitored during administration. If symptoms such as malaise, abnormal sensations in the mouth, shortness of breath, dizziness, constipation, tinnitus, and sweating occur, administration should be immediately discontinued. If hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rashes, hives, itching, fever, or joint pain present, discontinue use and seek appropriate treatment. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, and in severe cases, administration should be stopped immediately. Respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, or difficulty breathing may occur, and if these symptoms are present, administration should be ceased, and treatment sought. Regular blood tests for white blood cell and platelet counts are required during prolonged treatment due to possible changes. This drug may affect the central nervous system, resulting in cognitive impairment or seizures in patients with renal dysfunction. Severe reactions may occur on the skin, so discontinuation is advised if abnormal symptoms arise. Regular testing and monitoring are necessary as it can influence liver and kidney function. Additionally, shifts in flora such as stomatitis or candidiasis may occur. This drug can also cause vitamin K deficiency, potentially leading to bleeding tendencies, and may show symptoms of vitamin B complex deficiency, necessitating caution. When using the medication, it is advisable to perform sensitivity testing to prevent the development of resistant bacteria and administer for the necessary minimum duration. A thorough interview and skin reaction testing prior to administering the medication are recommended to prevent allergic reactions. Dizziness may occur while taking this drug, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. Blood tests to verify white blood cell counts should be conducted if treatment extends beyond 10 days. In patients with decreased renal function, dosage control is crucial; if seizures occur, administration should be discontinued immediately, and antiepileptics may be required. Be cautious of interactions when concurrently using other medications. Co-administration with diuretics or aminoglycoside antibiotics may worsen renal dysfunction, so careful administration is warranted. When used alongside probenecid, the elimination of this drug may be reduced, raising blood concentration levels. Medications that raise gastric pH, such as antacids or H2-antagonists, may decrease the absorption of this drug, necessitating careful administration. The safety of this medication during pregnancy has not been established, so women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully weigh the benefits and risks of treatment. Nursing mothers should consider discontinuing breastfeeding, as this drug may be transferred into breast milk. The safety of this drug in children, particularly newborns and premature infants, is not fully known, thus caution is required. The elderly may have reduced physiological function and may experience adverse reactions more frequently, so monitoring of dosage and administration intervals is essential, along with careful observation of their condition. Finally, this medication may affect certain clinical test results, so care should be taken when interpreting test results.
