Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to this drug or those with severe myasthenia gravis. Caution should be exercised when administering this drug to patients with a history of hypersensitivity to medications or impaired liver function as liver function may deteriorate. This medication may rarely cause acute allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis or shock; if symptoms such as skin redness, itching, urticaria, edema, or dyspnea occur, administration should be immediately discontinued and appropriate treatment obtained. Severe skin reactions such as toxic epidermal necrolysis or Stevens-Johnson syndrome may also occur; if symptoms such as fever, erythema, blisters, itching, conjunctival injection, or oral inflammation occur, medication should be stopped immediately. During treatment, various abnormal reactions such as elevated liver function tests (ALT, AST, ALP) and indicators of kidney function (proteinuria, BUN), anemia, rashes, itching, insomnia, drowsiness, headaches, muscle cramps, dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, urinary retention, incontinence, weakness, dizziness, facial flushing, sweating, swelling, and palpitations may appear, so careful monitoring is necessary. If weakness, unsteadiness, or drowsiness occur during treatment, it may be necessary to reduce the dose or discontinue administration. This medication may cause drowsiness or impaired concentration; therefore, during treatment, driving or operating hazardous machinery should be avoided. The safety of this drug has not been sufficiently established in pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, and it should only be used when the therapeutic benefit outweighs the risk. Breastfeeding women should avoid use if possible, and if necessary, discontinue breastfeeding. Safety in children has not been sufficiently confirmed, so it should be used with caution in pediatric patients. Elderly patients may have diminished body function; therefore, special caution such as reducing the dose may be necessary when using this drug. Additionally, when taking this drug in combination with other medications containing similar components or specific muscle relaxants, visual disturbances may occur, so caution should be exercised during concomitant use.
