Systemic symptoms such as fever, swelling, weakness, and headache can occur, so monitoring overall health is crucial. Muscle or joint pain may occur; if discomfort persists, it should be reported. Cardiac symptoms such as arrhythmias, chest pain, and fluctuations in blood pressure may appear, necessitating monitoring of heart status. Difficulty in urination or urinary obstruction can appear rarely; if there are difficulties in passing urine, medical advice should be sought. This medication is used for treating simple herpes, chickenpox, and herpes zoster. If symptoms do not improve or worsen, alternative treatments should be considered. Treatment is most effective when started early during the onset of symptoms; for herpes zoster, treatment should begin within 5 days of the onset of skin symptoms, and for chickenpox, within 3 days. Patients with immunocompromised functions should consider intravenous administration forms for treatment. During administration of this medication, especially at high doses, ensuring adequate fluid intake is essential to reduce the risk of dehydration and nephrotoxicity.
