Precautions

This medication should not be taken by people who are allergic to this medication or any of its components. Furthermore, this medication contains lactose; therefore, patients with a genetic intolerance to lactose should also avoid using it. Patients with liver disease or a history of liver disease need to be cautious as their liver condition may worsen when taking this medication. If you experience rash, urticaria, swelling of the face or extremities, or severe itching while taking this medication, you should stop taking it immediately and go to the hospital. Occasionally, neurological symptoms such as drowsiness, headache, dizziness, insomnia, nightmares, numbness, or feeling dazed may occur. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, abdominal discomfort, dry mouth, abdominal pain, decreased appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and stomatitis may occur rarely. Liver function tests may show elevated levels, or symptoms of jaundice may appear, so careful monitoring of liver condition is necessary. Regarding kidney function, there may rarely be protein in the urine, so caution is needed. Symptoms similar to cystitis, such as frequent urination, hematuria, and difficulty urinating, may occur infrequently; consult a doctor if any unusual symptoms are noted. Rapid heartbeat may occasionally occur. Respiratory symptoms such as difficulty breathing, difficulty expelling mucus, and nasal congestion have been rarely reported. Blood tests may show platelet reduction or increased white blood cell counts, so any abnormal symptoms should be immediately reported to healthcare professionals. In rare cases, women may experience breast enlargement, menstrual irregularities, chest pain, or taste changes. This medication is not a quick-relief treatment for asthma attacks, so patients with asthma should understand this point clearly. Patients on long-term steroid therapy should gradually adjust the steroid dose when taking this medication. This medication may cause drowsiness, so caution is necessary when driving or operating machinery. If no effects are noticed, be cautious about long-term use. Seasonal allergy patients should start taking this medication before their symptoms worsen and continue through to the end of their symptoms. While this medication is known not to enhance tranquilizing effects when taken with sleeping pills or alcohol, caution is needed due to insufficient combined experience. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and breastfeeding women are advised to avoid using it or discontinue breastfeeding if possible. The safety of this medication in children, especially neonates and infants, has not been fully confirmed, so it should be used with caution. Elderly patients often have reduced liver and kidney function, so regular monitoring of their condition is necessary, and dose adjustments may be needed if any adverse reactions occur. In cases of overdose, cardiac arrhythmias may occur, so if excessive amounts are taken, appropriate treatment should be sought immediately at a hospital. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers. Taking this medication on an empty stomach may increase blood concentration, so it is important to follow the doctor’s instructions on timing and method of administration.
