Improvement of hypertension and diabetic kidney disease
This medication helps control blood pressure in patients with hypertension, thereby reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It is also used to prevent or delay the progression of kidney disease in patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes. It improves overall health by simultaneously managing blood pressure and kidney health.
This drug can be taken without regard to meals, but it is recommended to take it at the same time every day. 1. Hypertension Adults are recommended to take 50 mg of losartan potassium orally once daily. If the therapeutic effect is insufficient, it may be increased to a maximum of 100 mg once daily or divided into two doses daily. 2. Kidney disease in patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes Typically, 50 mg once daily.
Children and adolescents aged 6 years and older (1) Weight 20 kg to less than 50 kg: Take 25 mg orally once daily, can be increased to a maximum of 50 mg once daily based on blood pressure response. (2) Weight
This drug can cause serious damage to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it must be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. This drug should not be administered to certain patients, such as those allergic to this drug or its components, pregnant women or women of childbearing age, patients with severe liver disease, and those with hereditary angioedema. Elderly patients, patients with impaired kidney function, and patients at risk of high serum potassium levels should use this drug with caution, as blood pressure may drop rapidly. This drug is primarily used for the treatment of hypertension and is generally well-tolerated, but some patients may experience side effects such as dizziness, muscle cramps, headaches, cough, and dyspepsia. Serious allergic reactions, such as angioedema, may occur rarely, so if swelling of the lips or face or difficulty breathing develops, medical attention should be sought immediately. During the use of this drug, monitoring for changes in liver function, kidney function, low blood pressure, and hyperkalemia is necessary, which may require regular blood tests and status monitoring. Additionally, as this drug can interact with other medications, it is important to consult a physician when using it alongside potassium supplements, certain diuretics, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid using this drug, and if it must be used, they should consult a healthcare provider. This drug is not intended for use in children, especially those under 6 years old or in pediatric patients with severely impaired kidney function. Since this drug lowers blood pressure, dizziness or lightheadedness may occur during use; caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. In the case of an overdose, symptoms such as low blood pressure and cardiac arrhythmias may occur, and immediate medical attention is required.
Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe allergic reactions, severe skin reactions, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), extreme drowsiness, liver abnormalities (jaundice), sudden and severe headaches, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, severe neurological symptoms, significantly decreased urine output, severe swelling and elevated blood pressure.

This drug should be stored in a tightly sealed container to protect it from air and moisture, and it is recommended to store it at room temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius. Therefore, do not keep it in excessively hot or cold places, and store it away from direct sunlight.
