Prevention of asthma and relief of allergic rhinitis symptoms
This medication is used to prevent asthma attacks and to provide ongoing treatment for asthma. Additionally, it helps relieve symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis. Therefore, it is effectively used in managing asthma and allergic rhinitis.
This medication is taken once daily. Asthma patients should take 1 tablet or 1 dose in the evening. Allergic rhinitis patients should determine the dosing time based on their condition. Adults and adolescents aged 15 years and older should take 10 mg of Montelukast orally once daily.
This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to this medication or any of its ingredients. This medication contains lactose, so patients with hereditary issues such as lactose intolerance, lactose deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. This medication is not a treatment for acute asthma attacks; appropriate emergency medications should be used when acute symptoms occur. Asthma patients should always carry a fast-acting bronchodilator that can be used in case of acute exacerbations even while taking this medication. While taking this medication, the dosage of inhaled corticosteroids may be gradually reduced according to the physician's instructions; however, abrupt replacement with other steroid medications should not be done. Patients with exercise-induced bronchoconstriction should not use this medication alone and should use an inhaled beta-agonist in conjunction. Patients who have hypersensitivity to aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should not use these medications during the treatment with this medication. This medication may rarely cause serious immune reactions such as systemic eosinophilia and vasculitis; therefore, if symptoms such as skin rashes, worsening pulmonary symptoms, or heart or nerve issues appear, a physician should be consulted immediately. Side effects such as drowsiness, headache, abdominal pain, fever, cough, nasal congestion may occur while taking this medication, and if any abnormal symptoms persist or worsen, inform a physician. Pregnant or nursing women should only use this medication if deemed necessary by a physician and should exercise caution while breastfeeding. It is not recommended for use in children, especially infants under 6 months, as safety and efficacy have not been established. Do not arbitrarily stop or adjust the dosage of other asthma treatments while taking this medication; always follow the physician's instructions. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, and general symptomatic treatment should be performed under a physician's guidance. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers.
Hives, toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, angioedema, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mucous membranes of mouth/eyes, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, breathing difficulties accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headache, lightning

This medication is sensitive to air, moisture, and light, so it should be stored in a tightly sealed container. Keep the storage temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius to maintain the effectiveness of the medication for a longer period.
