Treatment of skin and nail fungal infections
This medicine is used for the treatment of tinea pedis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, and onychomycosis caused by dermatophytes in adults. Additionally, it is effective for the treatment of tinea capitis in pediatric patients. In other words, it is used to improve fungal infections occurring on the skin and nails.
As terbinafine hydrochloride 125 mg once, twice daily or 250 mg once daily. The duration of treatment depends on the condition: 1) Dermatophyte infections Tinea pedis (interdigital, plantar/moccasin type): 2–6 weeks Tinea corporis: 2–4 weeks Tinea cruris (jock itch): 2–4 weeks 2) Onychomycosis: Typically treated for 6 weeks to 3 months. If the infection is on fingernails or smaller toes, or in younger patients, the treatment period may be reduced to less than 3 months. The treatment period for nail infections is generally sufficient at 3 months, but some patients may take 6 months or longer. For patients with slow nail growth, the duration of treatment may be extended.
Administered to children over 2 years old. Tinea capitis: 4 weeks 1) For children weighing less than 20 kg (under 5 years old): 62.5 mg once a day. The decision to administer should be based on the balance of benefits and risks of treatment.
This medication is not recommended for patients with chronic liver disease or active liver disease. Liver function tests must be performed before treatment initiation, and liver function should be monitored regularly during treatment. If symptoms of liver dysfunction appear, discontinue the medication immediately and consult a physician. This medication should not be administered to patients with blood disorders, severe renal failure, nursing mothers, or children under 2 years old. Since it contains lactose, patients who are lactose intolerant should avoid taking it. It should be used with caution in patients with reduced kidney function, the elderly, and children weighing less than 20 kg. If serious skin reactions occur during the medication, discontinue it immediately and consult healthcare personnel. This medication may cause various side effects such as liver damage, blood dyscrasias, skin rashes, myalgia, gastrointestinal symptoms, and neurological symptoms, so careful monitoring is necessary. Caution is needed when driving or operating machinery if symptoms such as dizziness occur. There may be interactions with other medications, so inform healthcare personnel about any concomitant medications. For women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, the administration of this medication should be determined with caution, and breastfeeding should be discontinued if nursing. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as headache, nausea, and dizziness may occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought. Keep this medication out of reach of children and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to protect it from exposure to air and moisture. It is important to maintain a storage temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius. This will help preserve the drug's efficacy for a longer period.
