This medication is used for painful muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal disorders, such as lateral epicondylitis, adhesive capsulitis, and lower back pain. It is also effective for spastic paralysis resulting from neurological conditions, aiding in the relief of symptoms caused by various factors such as cerebrovascular disorders, spastic spinal paralysis, cervical spondylosis, post-surgical sequelae, and post-traumatic sequelae. This drug helps to relax muscle tension and reduce pain, making daily life more comfortable for patients. Overall, it is used to alleviate muscle stiffness and pain caused by musculoskeletal and neurologic disorders.

How to take

Adult dose

Administer 50 mg by mouth three times a day after meals for Eperisone Hydrochloride. Adjust dosage appropriately according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients with allergic reactions or myasthenia gravis. Additionally, this drug contains lactose and should not be administered to patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to the drug or with liver function issues should exercise special caution when using this medication. This drug contains the dye Yellow No. 4, so patients who are allergic or sensitive to this ingredient should also be careful. Rarely, side effects such as shock, liver or kidney dysfunction, and anemia may occur, so symptoms should be closely monitored, and if abnormalities are found, medication should be promptly discontinued and appropriate treatment sought. Various side effects such as skin rash, itching, insomnia, drowsiness, headache, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, and abdominal pain may occur, so if symptoms appear, consultation with a healthcare professional is recommended. Severe cutaneous adverse reactions such as toxic epidermal necrolysis syndrome or Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur rarely, so if symptoms such as fever, rash, blisters, or eye redness appear, medication should be discontinued immediately. During the use of this drug, there may be feelings of weakness, unsteadiness, or drowsiness, and if such symptoms occur, the dosage should be reduced or discontinued. Since drowsiness or decreased concentration may occur, it is advisable to avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery. When used in conjunction with other muscle relaxants, side effects may be exacerbated, so caution is advised when combined. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should only use this medication when the benefits of treatment outweigh potential risks, as its safety is not well established. Breastfeeding women should preferably avoid taking this drug, and if it is absolutely necessary, breastfeeding should be discontinued.
