Treatment of peripheral and central neuropathic pain, adjunctive therapy for partial seizures in epilepsy, improvement of fibromyalgia.
This medication is used to treat peripheral and central neuropathic pain in adults. It is also used as an adjunct to treat partial seizures in epilepsy, regardless of the presence of secondary general symptoms, and is effective for the treatment of fibromyalgia. It is used to improve pain and seizure symptoms in various neurological diseases.
This medication is Pregabalin and should be taken orally, divided into two doses daily, regardless of food. 1. Neuropathic Pain 1) Peripheral Neuropathic Pain Adults: The starting dose may be 150 mg per day and can be increased to 300 mg per day after 3 to 7 days. If necessary, it can be further increased to a maximum of 600 mg per day, with a 7-day interval between doses. 2) Central Neuropathic Pain.
There is insufficient data on safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 12 years old and adolescents aged 12-17 years; therefore, its use is not recommended.
This medication may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behaviors; therefore, if there are any changes in mood or behavior during treatment, it is essential to inform healthcare professionals immediately. Those who have allergies to any of the ingredients of this drug or have specific genetic disorders such as lactose intolerance should not take this medication. Diabetic patients should be cautious as weight gain may require adjustments to their blood sugar control medications. If symptoms of angioedema, such as swelling of the face or around the mouth, occur, stop taking this medication immediately and seek medical attention. Elderly patients should be particularly careful when starting the medication due to risks of dizziness or drowsiness leading to falls or injuries. Temporary blurred vision or changes in sight may occur during treatment; if such symptoms appear, consult with a healthcare professional. Sudden discontinuation of this medication may lead to withdrawal symptoms such as insomnia, headache, nausea, and anxiety, thus it should be tapered off gradually following medical advice. Patients with a history of substance abuse may have an increased potential for dependence; therefore, caution is advised when taking this medication. Patients with impaired kidney function should have their dosage adjusted, and those with heart disease should use it cautiously. Concurrent use with opioid analgesics may increase CNS depression; thus, caution is warranted with concurrent use of these medications. This medication can cause dizziness and drowsiness, making it advisable to avoid driving or operating machinery until symptoms are confirmed. Pregnant women should avoid taking this medication unless in special circumstances due to potential risks to the fetus, and nursing mothers are advised against its use as it can be transmitted through breast milk. In cases of overdose, symptoms may include confusion, drowsiness, depression, and seizures, and treatment such as hemodialysis may be necessary. Keep this medication out of reach of children, and do not transfer it to other containers, as this might lead to accidents or a decline in quality.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blistering, skin peeling, pain in oral or ocular mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory issues accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, altered consciousness, visual disturbances, paralysis, urinary issues.

This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to protect it from air or moisture. It is important to maintain storage temperatures between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius.
