This drug is effective in treating and preventing infections of the skin and mucous membranes caused by the herpes simplex virus. It can be used particularly for the treatment of primary and recurrent genital herpes. Additionally, it helps relieve acute pain during the treatment of herpes zoster virus infections. However, its effectiveness for postherpetic neuralgia is still not clearly proven. It can also be used for the treatment of chickenpox in children over 2 years old, making it widely utilized for various viral infection diseases.

How it is given

Adult administration

1.
