This medication is used for the treatment of peripheral and central neuropathic pain in adults. It also helps as an adjunct for partial seizures in epilepsy patients, with or without secondary general symptoms. Additionally, it is effective in treating fibromyalgia. This drug is used to improve symptoms in various nerve-related disorders.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication should be taken orally, divided into two doses per day, regardless of meals. 1. Neuropathic pain - Peripheral neuropathic pain: The starting dose is 150 mg per day, which can be increased to 300 mg per day within 3 to 7 days. If necessary, it can be further increased to a maximum of 600 mg per day at intervals of 7 days. - Central neuropathic pain: The starting dose is 150 mg per day.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy data for children under 12 years old and adolescents aged 12-17 are insufficient, so administration is not recommended.

Precautions

This drug may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behaviors, so patients should immediately consult a physician if symptoms of depression, mood changes, or abnormal behaviors appear during treatment. Those who have hypersensitivity to this drug or specific genetic problems such as lactose intolerance should not use it. Diabetic patients should be cautious as weight gain may require adjustment of their blood sugar control medications.
