Rapid relief of moderate pain (post-operative) and fever
This medication is used to rapidly relieve moderate pain, particularly post-operative pain, and to quickly lower fever when necessary. It is effective when intravenous administration is required or other routes of administration are difficult. Short-term treatment reduces patient discomfort and increases therapeutic effect. Therefore, it is used to improve moderate pain and fever.
Adults weighing over 50 kg: 4 times a day, 1000 mg per dose of acetaminophen, with a minimum interval of 4 hours. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 4 grams. For patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance ≤30 mL/min), it is preferable to have a dosing interval of at least 6 hours. Administration method: administered intravenously over 15 minutes.
Children weighing over 33 kg (approximately 11 years) and adults weighing under 50 kg: for each dose, approximately 15 mg/kg (1.5 mL/kg of this medication), with a minimum interval of 4 hours. Daily maximum dose:
Care should be taken not to confuse the dosage units of milligrams and milliliters upon administration. Confusion can lead to sudden overdose or severe side effects. Once oral medication can be taken, it is advisable to use an appropriate analgesic as soon as possible. Ensure that acetaminophen is not already included in other medications to prevent overdose. Overdose can cause serious liver damage. Exceeding the recommended dosage can lead to liver damage, and symptoms of liver damage may appear between 2 to 6 days after administration, so immediate treatment is necessary if symptoms are suspected. Patients with poor liver function should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and regular liver function tests are required for long-term use of high doses. Individuals who consume alcohol regularly should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication, as the risk of liver damage may increase. If a rash or severe allergic reaction occurs after taking this medication, stop taking it immediately and consult medical personnel. Patients who are hypersensitive to acetaminophen or this medication, have peptic ulcers, severe liver or kidney impairment, heart dysfunction, or a history of aspirin-induced asthma should not use this medication. As there may be interactions with other medications, patients taking barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, warfarin, lithium, certain diuretics, etc., should use caution. During pregnancy or lactation, consult a doctor thoroughly before use, and strictly adhere to the recommended dosage and duration of administration. Children and the elderly should use the minimal dosage and be monitored for adverse reactions, especially in cases of high fever. Patients with severely impaired kidney function should use this medication cautiously by extending the dosing interval. In the case of overdose, initial symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite. In severe cases, it can lead to liver failure or coma, requiring immediate emergency treatment. When administered, this medication should not be mixed with other medications, and should be stored in a sealed container in a cool place below 30 degrees Celsius. Before use, check for foreign substances or discoloration, and since it is for single use, any remaining solution should be discarded.
