Rimapromon Tablets (Rimaprost Alpha-Dex)

Adult dosage

1. For improvement of ischemic symptoms such as ulcers, pain, and coldness associated with thromboangiitis obliterans (Buerger’s disease), the usual adult dose is 2 tablets orally 3 times daily. 2. For improvement of subjective symptoms (lower limb pain and numbness) and walking ability associated with acquired lumbar spinal canal stenosis (in patients with a normal SLR test and bilateral intermittent claudication), the usual adult dose is 1 tablet orally 3 times daily. Adjust the dose appropriately according to age and symptoms.

This medication should not be used by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. This medication contains lactose and should not be taken by patients with lactose intolerance. It should be used with caution in patients who have a risk of bleeding or are taking medications that may induce bleeding. Occasionally, hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash or itching may occur; if such symptoms appear, medication should be discontinued. Bleeding can occur rarely, so if bleeding symptoms occur, administration should be stopped immediately and careful observation is required. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite may occur, so caution is necessary. Since it may affect liver function, regular checks for elevated liver enzymes are required. Watch for symptoms such as increased heart rate or low blood pressure, as abnormalities may occur. Headaches, dizziness, flushing of the face, and in rare cases, generalized weakness or edema may occur. In patients with lumbar spinal stenosis, changes in symptoms should be closely monitored to decide whether to continue medication. Safety in pregnant women has not been established, and uterine contractions have been reported in animal studies, so women who may become pregnant should avoid use. Safety in children has not been established; there is no experience of use. Elderly individuals may have reduced physical function, so care should be taken to reduce the dose as necessary. In healthy adults, administering a high dose may temporarily lower blood pressure; therefore, caution is necessary.
