This medication is used for patients who need to take telmisartan and rosuvastatin simultaneously. Telmisartan primarily treats essential hypertension and significantly reduces the risk of death from myocardial infarction, stroke, and cardiovascular diseases in high-risk patients aged 55 and older, especially in those where ACE inhibitors are unsuitable. Rosuvastatin is used as an adjunct when dietary control and exercise are insufficient for patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed hyperlipidemia, lowering LDL cholesterol and delaying the progression of atherosclerosis. It also plays a role in reducing the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and arterial revascularization in patients with high-risk cardiovascular disease. Thus, this medication effectively improves cardiovascular disease risk by managing both hypertension and hyperlipidemia simultaneously.
