How to take

Adult dose

For severe infections and respiratory infections in adults, take 2 tablets orally, twice a day every 12 hours. In patients with renal impairment, dosage may be reduced according to the degree of kidney function. This drug should not be administered to patients with severe renal impairment (glomerular filtration rate below 30 mL/min).

Precautions

This drug contains a component that belongs to the beta-lactam antibiotic class, which is a part of the penicillin family, and should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to this drug or similar drugs. Particularly in patients with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia, the risk of side effects such as rashes is higher, and caution is needed. Patients with a history of hepatic dysfunction or jaundice due to this drug or penicillin family drugs may experience recurrence; thus, it is recommended not to use it. Patients with impaired liver function or those with moderate to severe renal impairment should be cautious about dosage adjustment and administration interval, as drug concentration may increase. Patients with allergic predispositions or those prone to bronchial asthma, skin rashes, hives, etc., should be particularly careful when using this drug. Patients who have difficulty with oral intake, are receiving parenteral nutrition, elderly patients, or those in poor overall condition should be cautious of bleeding risks due to vitamin K deficiency. Patients with severe vomiting or diarrhea due to gastrointestinal diseases may not absorb the drug sufficiently, so they should consult a physician before taking it. If gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, or bloody stools occur during the course of taking this drug, administration should be immediately stopped, and medical consultation should be sought. Symptoms of liver dysfunction may include hepatitis, jaundice, etc., especially in elderly males during long-term administration, so regular liver function tests are required. Skin reactions such as rashes, itching, and in severe cases, Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis may occur; if these symptoms arise, administration should be stopped immediately, and medical advice should be followed. Blood tests may rarely reveal abnormalities like leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia, etc.; hence, blood testing is necessary during long-term administration. Central nervous system side effects, although rare, may include agitation, anxiety, drowsiness, and seizures, especially in patients with renal impairment or those receiving high doses. There may be a rapid deterioration in renal function; regular monitoring of kidney function during use is essential. This drug may cause changes in intestinal flora, potentially leading to fungal infections like candidiasis, so any abnormal symptoms should be reported immediately. Bleeding tendencies due to vitamin K deficiency and vitamin B group deficiency symptoms have also been reported, so nutritional status should be checked during prolonged use. This drug may interact with other medications, particularly anticoagulants, probenecid, allopurinol, and antibiotics, so caution is warranted when taken with these medications. During pregnancy, especially in the first three months, use should be avoided; pregnant or breastfeeding women should only use this drug if absolutely necessary and with caution. Usage is not recommended in children under 12 years of age or weighing less than 40 kg due to limited experience. Elderly patients should be monitored and dosage and administration intervals adjusted due to increased risk of side effects from decreased bodily function. Regular testing of liver function, kidney function, and blood status during the course of this medication is essential, and any abnormal signs should be reported to healthcare professionals immediately. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, drowsiness, and seizures may occur; immediate medical attention is advised. Finally, this drug should be stored in a tightly sealed container to avoid exposure to air or moisture, and kept in a cool and dry place below 25 degrees Celsius to maintain its efficacy.
