This medication is used for patients who need to take both telmisartan and rosuvastatin. Telmisartan helps reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and mortality due to cardiovascular disease in patients aged 55 or older with essential hypertension and a high risk of cardiovascular disease. Rosuvastatin is a dietary adjunct for patients with hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, lowering LDL cholesterol to delay the progression of atherosclerosis and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Additionally, it also reduces the risks associated with stroke, myocardial infarction, and arterial revascularization. In other words, this medication effectively improves the risk of cardiovascular diseases caused by hypertension and hyperlipidemia.
