View approved original text

This medication is used for the treatment of influenza A and B virus infections in individuals from newborns over 2 weeks old to adults. It is most effective when administered within 48 hours after the onset of early influenza symptoms. Additionally, it can be used for the prevention of influenza in children over 1 year and adults, but it does not replace vaccination. It is used as an adjunctive treatment in cases where vaccination is ineffective or impossible. Therefore, it serves as a medication that helps combat influenza infection and prevention.

Precautions

This medication cannot replace influenza vaccination and should be used separately from vaccinations. This medication is effective only against influenza A and B viruses, and its safety and efficacy have not been established for other infections. Rarely, neurological and psychiatric adverse reactions may occur in children and adolescents taking this medication, and caregivers should carefully observe for unusual behaviors, particularly if they manifest. Patients with a known allergy to this medication or its components should not use it. Patients with impaired renal function may need dose adjustments, and it is not recommended for patients with severe renal failure. While taking this medication, side effects such as nausea, vomiting, and headaches may occur, but most are temporary. Severe allergic reactions, liver function abnormalities, and serious skin reactions like rashes may occur, and if symptoms appear, immediate consultation with a healthcare provider is necessary. Pregnant or lactating women should consider the benefits and risks of treatment, as safety data regarding pregnant women is limited. For children, especially those under 1 year old, its safety and efficacy have not been established, and its use should be avoided. Elderly patients do not require dose adjustments, but should be carefully monitored due to declining physical functions and underlying diseases. While this medication has a low potential for interactions with other drugs, caution is warranted when used in combination with specific medications.
