This medicine is used for the treatment of chronic constipation in adults who do not experience improvement with laxatives. It assists patients suffering from chronic constipation and promotes bowel movements while improving defecation activities. Regular use is effective in alleviating constipation symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is administered orally and can be taken at any time of the day regardless of meals. Adults should take 2 mg once daily. Elderly patients aged 65 and older should start with an initial dose of 1 mg once daily, which may be increased to 2 mg once daily if necessary. Patients with severe renal impairment (GFR < 30 ml/min/1.73 m2) should take 1 mg once daily. Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For instance, individuals who are allergic to this drug's active ingredients or additives should not take it. Patients with severely impaired kidney function or structural problems in their intestines should also avoid this medication. Additionally, it is not suitable for individuals with genetic disorders that affect lactose breakdown. Since this drug is primarily excreted by the kidneys, patients with severely reduced renal function should use it cautiously and at a reduced dose. There is limited experience with the use of this drug during pregnancy, thus it is not recommended, and fertile women should employ effective contraception during treatment.
