Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have experienced shock due to this medication before. Patients with allergic reactions to cephalosporin antibiotics should also not take this medication. Additionally, as this medication contains lactose, it should not be administered to patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Patients with a history of hypersensitivity or allergies to penicillin antibiotics should be particularly cautious when taking this medication. Patients prone to allergic symptoms like bronchial asthma, rash, or hives, or those with severely impaired kidney function, should use it carefully. Patients who have difficulty taking it orally, elderly patients, or those in poor general health should be closely monitored as there may be symptoms of vitamin K deficiency. Also, patients allergic to the color additive Yellow No. 5 (Sunset Yellow FCF) should be cautious. During the course of this medication, serious allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis may occur, so symptoms should be closely observed. If symptoms like rash, itching, fever, or swelling appear, treatment should be stopped immediately, and healthcare personnel should be consulted. Gastrointestinal issues may include severe diarrhea or abdominal pain, and serious conditions such as pseudomembranous colitis can occur, so notify immediately if symptoms occur. Respiratory symptoms can rarely include cough, difficulty breathing, and pneumonia, so observe carefully for abnormal signs. Hematological abnormalities may present as leukopenia and hemolytic anemia, which require regular testing. Central nervous system symptoms have been reported to include seizures, so caution is needed. Severe rash or symptoms like Stevens-Johnson syndrome may appear on the skin, so these symptoms should be closely monitored. Liver and kidney functions may also be affected, so regular testing is necessary and healthcare personnel should be notified immediately if any abnormalities are found. Rarely, occurrences of oral candidiasis or candidiasis may appear. There is also a risk of bleeding tendency due to vitamin K deficiency or symptoms of vitamin B complex deficiency. To prevent the emergence of resistant bacteria, sensitivity tests should be conducted, and this medication should only be used for the minimum necessary duration. A thorough history taking is required before administration to reduce the likelihood of serious reactions like shock. Capsule forms and suspensions have different biological activities, so care should be taken when interchanging them. In patients with compromised kidney function, the dosage should be adjusted, and administration should be stopped immediately if seizures occur. Caution is also necessary when using this medication alongside other drugs. Particularly, be careful with co-administration with warfarin as there may be an increased risk of bleeding. Co-administration with carbamazepine may increase blood levels, so monitoring is required. When used with medications that may increase nephrotoxicity, renal function should be closely monitored. Safety during pregnancy has not been established, so this medication should only be used when deemed absolutely necessary, and breastfeeding should be avoided during the treatment period. Safety in newborns, premature infants, and infants under 6 months has not been confirmed, so caution is advised. Elderly patients may exhibit adverse reactions more easily due to diminished bodily functions, so dosage and intervals should be adjusted and their condition closely monitored. There is also an increased risk of bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency, so caution is required. This medication may affect the results of some clinical tests, so caution should be exercised when interpreting test results. In the case of powder forms, do not mix with milk or juice and leave standing for long periods, and suspensions should not be stored for more than 2 weeks after preparation.
