Treatment and prevention of gastroesophageal reflux disease (erosive esophagitis), and improvement of gastrointestinal disorders related to Helicobacter pylori-associated peptic ulcers.
This medication is used for the long-term maintenance therapy of gastroesophageal reflux disease, especially erosive reflux esophagitis, and to prevent recurrence. It also helps in the treatment of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection and aids in the prevention of recurrence. It is effective in treating upper gastrointestinal symptoms related to the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and in treating and preventing gastric ulcers. This medication is also used for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and for maintenance therapy after inducing prevention of rebleeding from gastric or duodenal ulcers. It is used to improve various symptoms and diseases related to gastrointestinal disorders.
This medication should be swallowed with liquids such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: Administer 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. If not cured or symptoms persist, continue for another 4 weeks. - Long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence of esophagitis: Administer 20 mg once daily. - Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease symptoms without esophagitis: Administer once daily.
For adolescents aged 12 and above: - Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: Administer 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. If not cured or symptoms persist, continue for another 4 weeks.
This medication should not be used in patients with a history of allergic reactions to certain components or benzimidazole derivatives. Furthermore, patients with allergies to antibiotics such as amoxicillin or clarithromycin during Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy should not be given this medication. It may be risky to use this medication in conjunction with certain heart-related medications or antiviral drugs, so caution should be exercised regarding interactions with current medications. It is also advisable for lactating women or patients with a history of myocardial infarction to avoid this medication. Various side effects such as headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, dizziness may occur, and in rare cases, serious blood abnormalities or hypersensitivity reactions may occur. Long-term use may lead to electrolyte imbalances such as hypomagnesemia, so regular blood tests are necessary. There may be an increased risk of infections due to bacterial overgrowth in the stomach with long-term use of this medication, so consult a healthcare professional if diarrhea persists. Patients with osteoporosis or a high risk of fractures should be cautious, as long-term use may increase the risk of fractures. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if you are taking other medications, make sure to inform your healthcare professional. Safety data regarding use during pregnancy is limited, so pregnant women should consult their physician before taking this medication. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so appropriate treatment should be provided based on symptoms, and it should be stored out of reach of children.
Hives, angioedema, anaphylactic reaction/shock, severe rash with high fever, blisters, peeling skin, pain in the mouth/eyes, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS), difficulty breathing, asthma attack, shortness of breath, jaundice, hepatitis, liver failure, encephalopathy, sudden and severe headache, seizures, consciousness disturbance.

This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to protect it from air and moisture, and it is recommended to store it at room temperature between 1°C and 30°C. By storing it this way, the efficacy and safety of the medication can be maintained.
