This medication is an antibiotic that works by binding to specific proteins to prevent the formation of the bacterial cell wall, leading to bacterial death. This medication should not be used in patients who have previously experienced a severe allergic reaction or shock from this medication or similar antibiotics. Patients with a penicillin allergy or those who are prone to allergic reactions such as asthma, rash, or hives should use it with caution. Patients with severely impaired kidney function, those who have difficulty swallowing, elderly patients, or those in poor general condition should be closely monitored for vitamin K deficiency symptoms. Patients with gastrointestinal diseases, particularly a history of colitis, should also use it with caution. While using this medication, rare severe allergic reactions, skin rashes, blood abnormalities, liver or kidney function abnormalities, gastrointestinal problems, respiratory issues, or central nervous system symptoms may occur. If any of these symptoms appear, consult a physician immediately. This medication should only be used for the minimum necessary duration to prevent the development of resistant bacteria, and it should be administered only after confirming the possibility of allergic reactions. Caution is advised when used with other medications due to potential interactions, especially with medications that may affect the kidneys or anticoagulants, and when used concurrently with oral contraceptives. Women who are pregnant or nursing should use this medication cautiously as its safety has not been fully established, and it should only be used if the benefits outweigh the risks. Safety in neonates, particularly in those under one month of age, has not been confirmed, so it is best not to use it. Elderly patients may experience adverse reactions more easily due to diminished bodily functions, and there is also a risk of bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency, so dosage and intervals should be adjusted and monitored closely. This medication may affect the results of urine tests or blood tests, so caution is needed when interpreting the test results.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
