This medicine helps to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. In particular, it effectively lowers the likelihood of cardiovascular events such as myocardial infarction, stroke, vascular reconstruction surgery, and angina. Additionally, it is used for patients with hyperlipidemia in conjunction with diet to lower total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels and to increase HDL cholesterol levels. This medication is suitable for patients with primary and familial hypercholesterolemia, mixed dyslipidemia, and certain types of dyslipidemia. In children, it also helps to lower total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol in patients with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia who have cardiovascular risk factors. Therefore, this medication is used for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and improvement of hyperlipidemia.

Dosage and Administration

Precautions

There is no specific antidote for overdose, so treatment should be symptomatic, and it is not removed by hemodialysis.
