How to take

Adult dose

This medication should be taken once a day, preferably in the evening for asthma patients, while the dosing time for allergic rhinitis patients is determined based on the patient's condition. Patients with both asthma and allergic rhinitis should take 4 mg in the evening once daily. This medication should be administered 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.

Child dose

Children aged 2-5 years should chew and take 4 mg of montelukast once a day. This medication should be administered 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.

Precautions

This drug is used to relieve the symptoms of asthma and allergic rhinitis. Abnormalities in the neuropsychiatric system may occur during the use of this medication, so if symptoms such as agitation, aggressive behavior, anxiety, depression, memory impairment, hallucinations, or suicidal thoughts appear, consult a doctor immediately. This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, so patients with phenylketonuria should avoid taking it. It contains lactose, so patients with galactose intolerance or lactose deficiency should not take this medication. Side effects such as fatigue, headache, indigestion, cough, and rash may occur, and special caution is needed for children and the elderly.
