Treatment for essential hypertension and reduction of cardiovascular disease risk
This medication helps control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension. In essential hypertension, take Telmisartan 40 mg orally once a day with water, regardless of meals. In some patients, 20 mg once a day may be effective, and if necessary, the dose can be increased up to 80 mg once a day. Maximum blood pressure-lowering effect occurs 4 to 8 weeks after treatment initiation. For reducing cardiovascular disease risk, take 80 mg orally once a day with water.
