Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to this medication or its ingredients. Patients with liver disease or a history of liver disease should be closely monitored when using this medication, as it can worsen liver conditions. If allergic reactions such as rash, hives, redness, itching, or swelling of the face or extremities occur while taking this medication, use should be discontinued immediately, and appropriate treatment must be sought. Occasionally, CNS symptoms such as drowsiness, fatigue, headache, dizziness, insomnia, nightmares, feelings of numbness, or a foggy head may occur, necessitating caution. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, abdominal discomfort, dry mouth, and abdominal pain may occur. Rarely, symptoms such as loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, or stomatitis may arise, and any abnormal symptoms should be reported. Liver function tests (e.g., AST, ALT, γ-GTP, etc.) should be performed periodically, as liver dysfunction may occur. Usage should be discontinued immediately if jaundice symptoms appear. Rarely, proteinuria may occur, so caution should also be taken regarding kidney function. Symptoms related to the bladder, such as frequent urination, hematuria, or urinary retention, may occur, and medical advice should be sought for these symptoms. Palpitations may occasionally occur, so cardiac symptoms should be observed. Respiratory symptoms, such as shortness of breath, sputum difficulties, or nasal congestion, may rarely appear, necessitating caution. Blood tests may show thrombocytopenia or leukocytosis, so any abnormal symptoms should be reported immediately. Rare side effects such as gynecomastia, menstrual irregularities, or chest pain may occur, and any abnormal symptoms should be reported. This medication is not a rapid relief medication for asthma attacks, so this should be clearly explained to asthma patients. Patients taking long-term steroid therapy should gradually reduce steroid use and be under the care of medical professionals when using this medication. This medication may cause drowsiness, so caution is necessary when operating machinery or driving. If effectiveness is not confirmed, long-term use is not advisable. For seasonal allergies, it is recommended to start taking the medication before symptoms appear and to continue taking it during the symptom period. This medication generally has low interactions with other sedatives, antihistamines, and alcohol, but caution is necessary when used in combination. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should be cautious about using this medication, as its safety during pregnancy is not certain; a careful decision should be made after consulting a physician. Lactating women should avoid using this medication if possible, as it may be transmitted through breast milk; otherwise, breastfeeding should be discontinued. The safety in children, especially low-birth-weight infants or neonates, has not been sufficiently established, so caution should be exercised. Elderly patients may have compromised liver and kidney function, thus requiring frequent monitoring for adverse reactions and dosage adjustments as necessary. In case of overdose, immediate treatment and ECG monitoring are necessary due to the risk of cardiac problems such as arrhythmias. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers. Taking on an empty stomach may increase blood concentration, so dosage timing and method should be adjusted according to the symptoms.
