Treatment of respiratory and urogenital infections (bronchitis, pneumonia, cystitis, etc.)
This medication is effective against various bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, and Salmonella. It is used for respiratory diseases such as acute and chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, sinusitis, and otitis media. It is also helpful in the treatment of urinary tract infections such as cystitis, urethritis, and pyelonephritis, as well as sexually transmitted infections like gonorrhea. It is effective against furuncles, abscesses, soft tissue infections, wound infections, osteomyelitis, and dental infections. This drug is used to treat bacterial infections in general and can address resistant strains, thus it is widely used for treating various bacterial infections.
For mild to moderate infections such as recurrent tonsillitis, upper respiratory infections, lower respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, and skin/soft tissue infections, it is usually taken as amoxicillin/potassium clavulanate at a dose of 25mg/3.6mg per kilogram of body weight divided into two doses daily. For severe infections such as otitis media, sinusitis, and lower respiratory infections like bronchopneumonia, it is usually taken as amoxicillin/potassium clavulanate at a dose of 45mg/6.4mg per kilogram of body weight daily, divided into two doses.
The 7:1 syrup is not suitable for those under 2 months of age. It is not suitable for pediatric patients with renal failure.
This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, and should not be used by patients with phenylketonuria. Patients who are allergic to this drug's components or to beta-lactam antibiotics should not take this. Caution is also needed for patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia. Patients with liver function issues or moderate to severe kidney function impairment should closely monitor their liver and kidney status while using this drug. Since this drug contains lactose, patients with galactose intolerance or lactose deficiency should not take it. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain may occur while taking this medication, and in severe cases, serious side effects such as pseudomembranous colitis may arise; thus, one should immediately consult a physician if symptoms occur. Symptoms of liver dysfunction can also occur infrequently, so it is advisable for elderly patients, especially those over 60 years of age or males, to undergo regular liver function tests. Allergic reactions such as skin rash, urticaria, and in severe cases, shock may occur. Thus, if any unusual symptoms arise, the patient should immediately stop taking the medication and inform healthcare professionals. This drug can interact with other medications, so patients taking anticoagulants, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, etc. should consult a specialist. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should carefully consider the risks and benefits of using this drug, especially avoiding use during the first three months of pregnancy. Safety in pediatric patients, especially newborns under 2 months old or premature infants, has not been established, thus caution is warranted. Elderly patients may experience side effects more readily due to decreased bodily functions; therefore, it is necessary to adjust the dose and administration interval carefully. During the course of medication, it is important to adhere to the prescribed duration and dose, and to consult with healthcare professionals immediately if adverse reactions occur. Unused medication after taking should be used within 7 days and stored under refrigeration, shaking well before use.
Diarrhea, pseudomembranous colitis, indigestion, stomatitis, gastritis, glossitis, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, abdominal bloating, constipation, colonic pain, hyperacidity, loose stools, dry mouth, candidiasis, antibiotic-induced colitis, bloody stools, itching, erythema multiforme, rash, dermatitis, generalized rash pustulosis, eosinophilia, angioedema, serum sickness-like syndrome, hypersensitivity vasculitis, bronchospasm, laryngeal edema, blood system abnormalities (leukopenia, thrombocytopenia)

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to protect it from air and moisture, preferably in a cool place between 1 and 25 degrees Celsius. This will help maintain the drug's effectiveness and prevent degradation.
