Treatment for symptoms of chronic constipation
This medication is used for adult patients with chronic constipation symptoms when conventional laxatives do not improve the symptoms. It promotes bowel movement to relieve discomfort caused by constipation and helps ease bowel movements. Regular use of this medication is effective in improving the symptoms of chronic constipation. It helps effectively treat the patient's constipation symptoms.
This medication is to be taken orally and can be taken at any time of the day regardless of meals. Adults should take 2mg once daily. Elderly patients aged 65 and older should start with a dosage of 1mg once daily, which may be increased to 2mg once daily if needed. For patients with severe renal impairment (GFR < 30 ml/min/1.73 m2) and severe liver impairment (Child-Pugh class C), the dosage is 1

The most common side effects during the use of this medication include headache and gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea. These symptoms generally occur early in treatment and improve over time. Other reported side effects include dizziness, tremor, palpitations, and fatigue. If new palpitations occur, it is important to consult with a physician. Although rare, serious adverse reactions have also been reported, so if symptoms are severe or persist, medical advice should be sought immediately. This medication may reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives, so it is recommended to use additional contraceptive methods when experiencing severe diarrhea. This medication has a low potential for interactions with other drugs; however, caution is needed when taken with certain antifungals or some cardiovascular medications. Moreover, drugs like atropine may reduce the effectiveness of this medication. Use of this medication is not recommended during pregnancy, and women of childbearing potential should use effective contraceptive methods throughout the treatment period. In case of overdose, symptoms may include headache, nausea, and diarrhea, and there is no specific antidote, so appropriate treatment should be administered according to symptoms. Care must be taken to prevent dehydration or electrolyte imbalances. This medication may cause dizziness or fatigue on the first day of use, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. Lastly, this medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept in its original container away from moisture.
