Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to its components. It also contains lactose, so patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, and glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. Patients with allergies or hypersensitivity to soybean oil, soy, or peanuts should also avoid this medication. Patients with a history of drug hypersensitivity, impaired liver or kidney function, those on dialysis, the elderly, and those with lipid metabolism disorders should use this medication with caution. This medication can rarely cause severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis; therefore, if symptoms such as facial pallor, decreased blood pressure, or difficulty breathing occur, use should be stopped immediately, and medical assistance should be sought. Liver function abnormalities or symptoms of jaundice may occur, so liver function should be monitored frequently, and if abnormalities are detected, medication should be discontinued. A decrease in blood cell count, such as agranulocytosis or thrombocytopenia, may occur, so symptoms like sore throat, fever, and generalized malaise should be noted. Additionally, serious side effects such as skin rashes, seizures, and heart rhythm abnormalities have been reported, so if abnormal symptoms appear, medical personnel should be informed immediately. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal bloating, and loss of appetite. CNS symptoms may include headaches, insomnia, drowsiness, and dizziness. Symptoms such as chills, heat sensation, and facial flushing have also been reported in the circulatory system. Blood tests may show elevated or decreased white blood cell count, and liver enzyme levels may rise. Signs of impaired kidney function may also appear, so kidney health should be closely monitored. In cases where malignant tumors are suspected, this medication may alleviate symptoms or delay diagnosis; thus, if symptoms such as weight loss, recurrent vomiting, or hematemesis occur, tests should be conducted. If gastric cancer is suspected, endoscopy or X-ray examinations should be performed at an early stage, and if diagnosed as malignant gastric cancer, the use of this medication should be discontinued. During treatment, it is important to closely observe the patient’s condition and not use the medication for longer than necessary. Patients at risk of lipid overload should regularly check blood lipid levels to adjust the dosage of this medication, and when taking other drugs containing lipid components, those amounts should also be considered. The elderly should use it with caution, adjusting the dose and administration interval as their physical functions are reduced. Patients on dialysis should start with a low dose, as blood concentration may increase, and administer with caution. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should take this medication only when the benefits outweigh the risks, as determined by a physician, and breastfeeding women are advised against using this medication as it may be excreted in breast milk. Safety for children has not been established, so caution is needed for use. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, kept in its original container, and not transferred to another container as it may risk misuse or deterioration in quality.
