Improvement of symptoms and urinary flow in benign prostatic hyperplasia, reduction of the need for surgery
This medication helps improve various symptoms caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia. It reduces hyperplastic prostatic tissue to facilitate urine flow and lowers the frequency of acute urinary retention. Additionally, it decreases the necessity for surgeries such as transurethral resection of the prostate or prostatectomy, thereby reducing the patient's burden. Overall, it is used to effectively improve symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
As Finasteride, take 5 mg orally once daily, without regard to meals. Treatment for at least 6 months is necessary even if symptoms improve.
