This medication is used to alleviate symptoms of difficult sputum discharge in conditions such as acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, laryngitis, sinusitis, and cystic fibrosis.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Acute conditions: 200 mg once, three times a day Chronic conditions: 200 mg once, twice a day

Children's dosage

Acute conditions: 200 mg once, twice a day for ages 6 to 14 Chronic conditions: 100 mg once, three times a day for ages 6 to 14 Cystic fibrosis: 200 mg once, three times a day for ages 6 and above

Precautions

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to this medicine or any of its ingredients. Patients with ulcers in the stomach or duodenum should also avoid this medicine. Additionally, children under 2 years of age should not use this medicine. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medicine. Breastfeeding women should also consult an expert before taking it, as it is not certain whether this medicine passes into breast milk. If digestive symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, mouth inflammation, heartburn, or diarrhea occur during treatment, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. If symptoms such as hives, itching, rash, headache, tinnitus, difficulty breathing, or worsening asthma symptoms occur, stop taking the medicine and consult a professional. Rarely, rapid heartbeat or elevated blood pressure may occur, so caution is advised if these symptoms arise. There have been reports of serious side effects like difficulty breathing, so notify medical personnel immediately if symptoms occur. When taking this medicine, it is advisable to take it at least 2 hours apart from antibiotics, as they may reduce the effectiveness of the antibiotics. Moreover, do not mix this medicine's solution with other medications. Store this medicine in a safe place out of reach of children and keep it in its original packaging. Transferring it to another container may lead to incorrect usage or quality degradation, so caution is necessary.
