It is also utilized as an adjunct for partial seizures in patients with epilepsy, either with or without secondary generalized symptoms. Additionally, it is effective in treating fibromyalgia. How to take

Adult dose

This medication is administered orally divided into two doses per day, irrespective of food intake, for a total daily dosage of Pregabalin. 1. Neuropathic Pain 1) Peripheral Neuropathic Pain - Initial dose: 150 mg daily - May increase to a maximum of 300 mg daily within 3 to 7 days - Subsequently, may further increase to a maximum of 600 mg daily at intervals of 7 days. 2) Central Neuropathic Pain - Initial dose: 150 mg daily

Precautions

This medication may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behaviors, so it is crucial to closely monitor for mood changes, abnormal behavior, or symptoms of depression during treatment. Individuals allergic to any component of this medication should not take it. Diabetic patients may be affected in blood glucose control due to weight gain, and dosage adjustment of antidiabetic medications may be necessary. If symptoms of angioedema occur, discontinue the medication immediately and consult a healthcare provider. Elderly patients should be particularly careful when taking this medication initially due to the risk of dizziness or drowsiness that may lead to falls.
