Adult dosage
This medication should be swallowed with liquid such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1. Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. - For patients whose esophagitis is untreated or symptoms persist, take for an additional 4 weeks. - Long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in patients with esophagitis: 20 mg once daily. - Treatment regime for symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: · 20 mg once daily. If symptoms are not controlled after 4 weeks, further medical attention is needed. · Once symptoms improve, continue with 20 mg once daily to control ongoing symptoms. · In adults, if needed, 20 mg can be taken once daily. For patients with a high risk of ulcer development due to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug use, continuous symptomatic control is not recommended.
Children's dosage

This medication is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and the alleviation of symptoms of erosive reflux esophagitis. It can also be applied as a long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in patients with esophagitis and is effective for the treatment of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease in patients without esophagitis. It helps in the treatment and prevention of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers as part of an antibiotic combination therapy for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori. It is also used for the treatment and prevention of upper gastrointestinal symptoms and gastric and duodenal ulcers caused by the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Furthermore, it is effective for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and maintenance therapy to prevent rebleeding of gastric or duodenal ulcers. Overall, it is used for the treatment and prevention of various gastrointestinal-related conditions.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

This medication should not be used in patients who are allergic to certain ingredients or have a history of hypersensitivity to benzimidazoles. This medication contains the dye Yellow No. 4, so patients allergic to this dye should exercise caution. Various side effects such as leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, allergic reactions, headaches, dizziness, and gastrointestinal symptoms may occur while taking this medication, so it is important to consult a physician immediately if any abnormal symptoms occur. Long-term use may result in hypomagnesemia due to decreased magnesium levels, necessitating regular blood tests and monitoring. This medication can increase the risk of bacterial growth in the stomach by inhibiting stomach acid secretion, so patients should inform healthcare professionals if diarrhea or signs of infection persist. Additionally, as this medication can interact with other drugs, patients taking anticoagulants, antibiotics, antiviral drugs, or anticonvulsants must inform healthcare professionals. The safety of this medication has not been thoroughly established during pregnancy or breastfeeding, so it is essential to consult a physician before use. In case of overdose, since there is no specific antidote, appropriate treatment based on symptoms should be administered, and it is important to keep this medication out of reach of children. If this medication needs to be used for a long time, regular check-ups and administering the minimum dose as per the physician's instructions are advisable.
